Trained in Ob/Gyn and Psychiatry, Dr. Laura Ross practiced reproductive psychiatry, helping women make critical healthcare decisions around their reproductive care. After several years, Laura left her medical practice to raise her three children and to focus her passion for reproductive healthcare and women’s equality through non-profit board work. Reproductive Rights are a shared passion in her family for as long as she can remember, dating back to her grandfather, who was President of the Metropolitan New Jersey Chapter of Planned Parenthood in the late 1960’s. Laura served on the board of the National Institute for Reproductive Health for six years, four as Board Secretary. She believes that women’s equality also comes through education and serves on the board of Student Leadership Network and the New York Regional Board of the University of Virginia. Laura is active in the NY Buddy Group, an organization that raises money for Democratic candidates in competitive races across the country.
Laura grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey and graduated from Yale University and New York University School of Medicine. Laura and her husband, David, have been married for 27 years and have three children.
