  • March 2024: P.OW.E.Repro supported Abortion Truth Campaign and Indivisible Mass Coalition’s Feminist Action Campaign in providing a virtual screening of Preconceived: The Unexpected World of Crisis Pregnancy Centers, a documentary that tells the stories of women who, while navigating unplanned pregnancies, inadvertently found themselves at facilities discouraging them from abortions. In addition to the screening, viewers were invited to a virtual talkback with the filmmakers and experts on the subject.

  • December 2023: We teamed up with ACT Access to host a very educational session and discuss the number one growing option in reproductive healthcare – telemedicine. ACT is truly one of those initiatives where spreading the word is crucially important to bring in the political support and resources in order to protect telemedicine abortion.

August 2023: Plan A mobile clinics bring health care directly to underserved communities, with an emphasis on improving sexual and reproductive health. We collaborated with Plan A to host a cocktail event during which the organization provided us with an update on they’re programming as they continue to face the repercussions of the Supreme Court’s overturning Roe v. Wade.

April 2023: P.O.W.E.Repro hosted Trust Women for an update on the state of abortion access in Kansas and their shift in services in their Oklahoma clinic since Roe was overturned and Oklahoma began banning abortion. In 2021, the year Trust Women first connected with P.O.W.E.Repro, their Kansas clinic served 1,500 patients. In 2022, they worked to defeat the anti-abortion ballot measure in Kansas. In 2023, they served over 5,000 patients seeking abortion care. Now a year and a half after Dobbs, thousands of patients continue to travel to Kansas from all over the Midwest and South. To this day, over 6,000 people visit the Trust Women website each month. Each day, there are 600 calls on average from people seeking abortion care.

January 2023: We were honored to be joined by a fantastic group of Mount Sinai physicians and change leaders: Drs. Joanne Stone, Adam Jacobs, Monica Dragoman, Caitlin Fiss, Laura MacIsaac, and Megan Antonetti, who shared insight and perspectives into how Mount Sinai is providing the best reproductive care and abortion services to all patients during a time when reproductive rights are under constant threat throughout the country.

  • October 2022: We are partnering with comedian/musician Cynthia Kaplan to raise money for the New York Abortion Access Fund. Her show, Cindy of Arc, is a must-see commentary on the patriarchy.

August 2022: We held our first event since the Dobbs decision - a luncheon to support our partner Plan A Health in its efforts to expand into rural Georgia. The success of the event was testament to the importance of Plan A’s work in the post-Roe era.

June 2022: As we awaited the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, we hosted an event to support ARC-Southeast. ARC-Southeast helps arrange and provide funding for transportation, lodging and other logistical support for women in several Southern states who must travel long distances for abortion care. We featured the work of a young activist artist and P.O.W.E.Repro's Art Director, Alex Rudin.

April 2022: We traveled to the Mississippi Delta to meet and learn firsthand from health care providers and networks there, in support of our partner, Plan A Health.

January 2022: When Omicron interfered with our plan to hold an in-person event to celebrate the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we sent our members an inspiring letter from Kathryn Kolbert and Julie F. Kay, along with our favorite RBG button with the P.O.W.E.Repro logo (designed by our talented Art Director Alex Rudin.)

  • November 30-December 1, 2021: We had a panel of Mississippians come to Washington, D.C. and held an event to support our partner, Plan A Health, the evening before the Supreme Court heard arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health. Plan A runs mobile clinics that bring healthcare to underserved women in the Mississippi Delta region. The next morning, we joined the protest on the steps of the Court.

October 2021: We hosted panels and book parties for Controlling Women: What We Must Do NOW to Save Reproductive Freedom, by Kathryn Kolbert and Julie F. Kay, to share their roadmap for how to protect access to abortion without relying on the courts.

October 2021: We fundraised for Trust Women, independent clinics in OK and KS, when they were dealing with the surge of Texans looking for care after SB8 went into effect September 1, 2021. Their Executive Director shared on-the-ground experiences of their patients and staff.
