A March on the Supreme Court and a Mississippi Panel
When the US Supreme Court heard the arguments for Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Mississippi case that is expected to seriously erode, or overturn, the protections of Roe, we brought our P.O.W.E.Repro network to Washington, D.C.
The evening before the SCOTUS argument, P.O.W.E.Repro hosted a panel with advocates and experts to help us understand the implications of this landmark case in Mississippi and beyond. Panelists included: Caroline Weinberg, Executive Director of Plan A, a mobile clinic serving the reproductive needs of women in the Mississippi Delta, Wengora Thompson, a women's healthcare professional from Jackson, Mississippi, and Julie F. Kay, human rights attorney and co-author of Controlling Women: What We Must Do Now to Save Reproductive Freedom.
The day of the arguments, we collaborated with the National Council of Jewish Women to march on the steps of the Supreme Court with our networks and partners.
